Composite concrete deck consists of profiled steel decking with an in-situ reinforced concrete topping. The decking not only acts as permanent formwork to the concrete, but also provide sufficient shear bond with the concrete so that, when the concrete has gained strength, the two-material act together compositely. Composite construction has contributed significantly to the dominance of light gauge steel frame (LGSF) and traditional hot rolled steel (HRS) frame in the commercial building industry both in Ireland and the UK, equally across the global. PJMGC engineers are experts in the design of composite concrete decking system.
